Study in India, with the help of the following Indian ministries - the Ministry of Human Resource Development and the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, is offering 2000 scholarships worth US $3500 each every year. Every meritorious student that has been offered this scholarship by SII shall receive it for a maximum period:

  • of 5 years for undergraduate integrated courses;
  • of 3 or 4 years for undergraduate courses, according to the course duration;
  • of 2 years for postgraduate courses;
  • or, till the completion of this course, whichever is lesser.

Please note, scholarships are only available for the above listed categories, and not for Ph.D, M.Phil and Doctoral level courses. To apply for this scholarship, students should have registered with SII, completed an application on our website www.studyinindia.gov.in and been admitted into SII-partnered institutions. The scholarships are awarded on the basis of the following:

  • Students should have had a meritorious academic history in his / her secondary school, higher secondary school, and / or latest academic qualification.
  • Students from the given list of countries may appear for the Ind-SAT exam that is conducted by the SII team, and a merit list would be generated for the second-wave of shortlisting.
  • According to the country-wise allocated quota and other criterion, the final shortlisted will be contacted by the SII team.

A few important clauses about the scholarship for the students applying for the SII scholarship:

  • Each scholarship is valued at USD 3500 per student per year.
  • Each scholarship under the SII scheme will only cover tuition, accommodation, food and admission fees. No other expense listed outside this set will be provided for by this scholarship.
  • If the total fees of the course for each year, which includes tuition, accommodation, food and admission, is lesser than the proposed value of US $3500, the lesser amount will be given as scholarship.
  • All scholarships are electronically transferred to the institutes.
  • Scholarship amount will be transferred to the institute after a verification of the student’s attendance for the first month has been forwarded to the SII team.
  • All scholarships are renewable on a year-on-year basis until the day of Graduation.

Before releasing the final offer letter to students, each online application will be verified for the Institute and the Scholarship Allotment by institutes and the SII team To be eligible for the SII Scholarship, the student should’ve applied to SII and have received admission in one of the SII-partner institutes. Germany is famous for providing the top-quality education in the fields of science and technology and renders the top engineers to the world. In general, public German universities do not charge tuition fees. At many universities this usually also applies to foreign students, though regulations for non-EU foreign citizens differ regionally. Universities may charge small fees for administrative costs.
\r\nThe top universities in Germany are scattered throughout the country, with options to study in Munich, Berlin and 40 other cities. In total, 48 universities in Germany are counted among the very best in the world. LMU Munich is the top university in Germany, followed by the Technical University of Munich. The top university in Berlin is Humboldt University of Berlin. More than 500 degrees (Bachelor’s and master’s programs) are taught in English at top German universities. Whatever subject you are interested in, you can study that degree in English in Germany. The number of foreign students at German universities rose by five per cent to 359,000 in 2017. That is 12.8 per cent of all students. This means that the projected goal for 2020 of 350,000 foreign students in Germany has already been achieved. 46,000 foreign Scientists are researching and teaching at German Universities.

At most higher education institutions, the application phase for the winter semester starting in September/October begins in early May and ends on 15 July. For the summer semester starting in March/April the application period runs from early December to 15 January. Letters of acceptance are sent out in August and in February. Rejections are often sent a little later. Private universities may have other deadlines. Foreign students have to apply either to the Stiftung für Hochschulzulassung, directly to the higher education institution, or to the University Application Service for International Students (https://www.uni-assist.de/en/) depending on which country they come from, what higher education entrance qualification they hold, and what subject they want to study
